I had lofty aspirations of posting little bits here and there during my time in England, but unfortunately the only free Wifi to be had is in my mother-in-law's smoke-filled house. As such, Richard and I haven't been connected to the Internets nearly as much as we'd like. He gets the shakes and tends to be a terrible grump after about 12 hours, so there's been a lot of sulking during this visit.
So... England. To sum it up quickly (since I forgot my power supply and am down to the dregs on this battery)...
Wherever I happen to be standing, I'm spitting distance from at least five pubs.
It's very old, very solid, and very charming. That said, it's very small, very crowded, and very expensive. The tea and chocolate are amazing. The coffee is not. The bacon here frightens me, but I keep forgetting that and ordering it anyway.
People still smoke here.
The beer is generally warmer than I'd like, and the air is generally cooler than I'd like. Lots of people seem to think skinny jeans tucked inside boots is a good idea. There are roundabouts everywhere. In conjunction with Richard's driving and the whole driving on the left side of the road thing, I'm constantly terrified.
Marks & Spencer and Boots are fantastic. I want to bring them both to America.
In the interest of getting this wee tired lass to bed, I offer you a numbered list:
1. The MRI was terrible. Just terrible. Despite the drugs, I was very scared. I'd go into detail, but I'm getting creeped out just thinking about it. The verdict: drugs are good, MRIs are bad.
2. On the plus side, I'll get my shoulder results tomorrow AM. Fingers crossed and good vibes this way, please!
3. And mere hours after, I'll be on my way to England with the Pigeon. Very exciting! I wanted to offer "Be Back Soon" from Oliver Twist! as my departing number, but I can't seem to find it on YouTube. Alas, you'll just have to settle for this one and pretend it's just as relevant:
