oh my god...
With a little help from our friends at Discount Shoe Warehouse, the Pigeon and I just performed bank account enemas. Four pairs for him, seven pairs for me. Something in the ballpark of $750 was spent. It's downright shameful, but it felt so good.
I, for one, felt I was very brave. I was endeavoring to replace my most favorite shoes in the whole world: wine-colored Ann Klein heels with double stitch detailing and a thin mary jane strap. I've loved these shoes intensely for five years -- they've seen more of San Francisco than most tourists -- but after 3 heel replacements and completely tearing out the liner on both, it might be time to say goodbye. (Note that every word I write about these shoes takes me one step farther away from actually giving them up.)
As luck would have it, I happened to find two of the most awesome pairs of shoes in the world. Their combined strength may be enough to help me let go. I'll add pictures once my laziness subsides.*
*Now with real shoes!
